U.S. citizens and permanent residents applying for Yale Scholarship should submit signed copies of 2008 federal tax returns (including all W2 forms and schedules) to the College Board’s Imaging and Documentation Service (IDOC) and not to Yale Student Financial Services. Beginning in early February and after you have submitted the CSS Pofeille Application, you will receive a cover letter and cover sheet from the College Board that provides instructions for submitting federal tax returns. You should submit the tax returns to the College Board along with the completed cover sheet.
Canadian residents and international students along with U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents applying for a Federal Stafford Loan only should submit tax returns directly to Yale Student Financial Services.

*Residents of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, or Vermont must apply for a State Grant by completing the FAFSA and submitting any other information that their stage agencies require by the states’ deadline dates. Students who are eligible to receive state funding but do not receive it due to incomplete or late application materials will not receive Yale funds to cover the amount of state funding they would have received.

Timeline
The tables below list the filing dates and award notification dates for 2009-2010. Keep in mind that term bills for the 2009-2010 academic year go out on July 1 for the Fall 2009 semester (due date August 1) and November 1 for the Spring 2010 semester (due date December 1). In order to ensure that your financial aid is shown on your bill and to avoid late fee charges, you must complete your application by one of the application filling dates listed below.

Extenuating Circumstances
To make Student Financial Services aware of special circumstances that are not reflected on the financial aid applications, you should submit a description on a separate sheet (along with any applicable documentation) to Student Financial Services.
