To the Yale Community:

I am delighted to begin my term as Vice President of Student Life and very much look forward to working with students, faculty and staff to coordinate cross-cutting issues that impact all students. One of the University’s goals is to make all students’ day-to-day experience of living at Yale equivalent to the amazing intellectual experience available to them just by being able to study here.

In order to identify areas for potential improvement and innovation, I have begun by meeting with campus community members to hear their thoughts and concerns and understand the many different experiences of students at Yale. I have had discussions with student government leaders, deans and deans of student affairs but I am especially keen to meet with more students to learn about what Yale can do to impact student life in a meaningful way.

To this end, I will be organizing some events to interact with both undergraduate and graduate and professional students in the coming months.

For Graduate and Professional Students, I will host a series of informal lunches and dinners with small groups of students in the month of November 2012. Students will be contacted with details.

For undergraduate students, open forums will be held later this year - more details will follow.

Students can also get in touch with me about student life issues by writing to student.life@yale.edu or scheduling a meeting with me through my assistant, Victoria Manders (victoria.manders@yale.edu).

I look forward to seeing many of you at lunches, dinners, forums and other events around campus.

Sincerely,

Kimberly M. Goff-Crews

Secretary and Vice President for Student Life
