Overview
Organized in its present form in 1919, the Office of the Secretary is responsible for an array of institutional functions, ranging from institutional governance to external affairs. Linda Koch Lorimer has served as Secretary of the University since 1993 and as Vice President and Secretary since 1995.
The Office of the Secretary supports a number of programs and services, and oversees the following University departments and organizations:
Association of Yale Alumni (AYA)
The AYA serves as an umbrella organization for Yale College Class alumni groups, Yale clubs, and the Yale graduate and professional school associations.
Office of International Affairs (OIA)
The Office of International Affairs serves as an administrative resource to support the international activities of all schools, departments, offices, centers, and organizations at Yale; to promote Yale and its faculty to international audiences; and to increase the visibility of Yale's international activities around the globe.
Office of Public Affairs (OPA)
The OPA serves as the University's link to the media, publishing and distributing press releases, announcements, and a weekly campus newspaper, the Yale Bulletin & Calendar.
Office of the University Printer
The Office of the University Printer determines standards for the graphic presentation of Yale University publications, both in print and on the Web; it is responsible as well for annual publication of the Bulletin of Yale University.
University Police
The Yale University Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency.
The Department of University Security Programs
The Department of University Security Programs provides a full range of integrated security services for the entire Yale campus.
Visitor Center
Yale's Visitor Center provides information and daily campus tours to all University and community visitors.
