From 1964 to the present, the Foreign Languages Publishing House (now World

Vietnamese Studies. Many works in this bibliography are a part of this series,
which covers literature, politics, agriculture, medicine, and other topics. An index to
Vietnamese Studies is being prepared and will be published soon as a volume
in the La.c Vie^.t series with this bibliography.

- Nguye^~n DDi`nh Tha^m. Studies on Vietnamese Language and Literature: A

- Riedy, Alan. Index to Vie^.t Nam Forum and La.c Vie^.t. in La.c
Vie^.t 17. New Haven, CT: Yale Council on Southeast Asia Studies, Yale
U., forthcoming.
An index to two valuable sources relating to Vietnamese history, literature and
culture. The Vietnam Forum (now The Vie^.t Nam Forum) is a
periodical. Fourteen volumes have been published (1983-1994). Begun in 1984,
La.c Vie^.t is a monograph series with fifteen works published. Huy`nh Sanh
Tho^ng, a well-know translator and scholar, started the La.c Vi^.t series and Dan Duffy has continued it. Because many Forum articles and La.c Vie^.t volumes make excellent reading for courses on the war, this index will be an important aid for teachers and researchers.
- Vietnam Web.
The best gateway for information on Vietnam is a site maintained by Vern Weitzel of Australian National University and his wife, Khua^'t Thi. Thanh So+n, a Vietnamese national. Called the Vietnam Virtual Library, it can be reached at
http://coombs.anu.edu.au/WWWVLPages/VietPages/WWWVL-
Vietnam.html.
- Wittman, Sandra M. Writing about Vietnam: A Bibliography of the Literature
of the Vietnam Conflict. Boston: G.K. Hall, 1989.
Lists mostly Euro-American works but includes some works by Vietnamese. Be
careful in using this bibliography. John Baky has pointed out that it contains errors
and inadequacies. See his "Literary Resources of the Vietnam War," War,
Literature, and the Arts 5 (Spring-Summer, 1993): 15-24.
