D05 Paul’s Epistle to the Galatians
Judith Gundry-Volf, Yale Divinity School
9:00 - 11:30am, June 9-13
$400
This course will explore Paul’s most polemical letter, in which he describes his own career as an apostle while he defends the validity of his understanding of the Gospel. Central to that understanding is a vision of the universal extent of God’s salvific purpose, a purpose that embraces male and female, Jew and Gentile, slave and free. Our exploration will take account of contemporary debates about Paul’s theology and his historical situation.
