Leonard Berkowitz

Biography

Mr Berkowitz received his bachelors degree in music in 1941. After four years of military service, he returned to Yale and received his master's degree in 1948. He was one of Paul Hindemith's first students in composition. Following his graduation, he taught at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, and later at California State University, Northridge, retiring from the latter in 1984
