About the South Asian Studies Action Commitee
The mission of the South Asian Studies Action Committee (SASAC) is to improve the quality and amount of course offerings at Yale University that relate to South Asia.  Its job thus, is to enlighten more members of the Yale community on South Asian literature, arts, religions, peoples, culture, and history.
SASAC works with a number of faculty members, committees, and members of the Yale administration both in serving as a representative of sudent desire for South Asian studies courses, and in negotiating these course options.  It also works to inform students about upcoming intellectual events and available South Asia related courses.  In order to convey information to the Yale administration, SASAC often surveys the Yale student body and gauges interest and demand for South Asia-related courses, in all fields of study, from art and literature to history and politics.  Become educated.  Join SASAC.  Make your interests known, and make your ideas reality.
•Organization
SASAC consists of a committee, led by the annually-elected co-chairs, one of whom also serves as the South Asian Society's Vice-President.  The committee members work together to handle the tasks of SASAC, which include meeting with administration members, meeting with faculty, tallying surveys, and more.  SASAC is always looking for more committee members with ideas and commitment to prolifetating South Asian studies at Yale, so if interested, contact our chairs!
