Salt helped to organize an event on January 25, 2002 to examine and reflect upon the Christian basis of Martin Luther King's work through worship and a panel discussion on the prophetic vision of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. in contemporary America. Community leaders discussed the relevance of the Christian Gospel to the attainment of social justice in issues of race, violence and labor.

[3] Blankets for Afghan Refugees with Mennonite Central Committee
In November of 2001, Salt and two Bible study groups from Yale Christian Fellowship made blankets for Afghan refugees as part of a larger witnessing effort of the Mennonite Central Committee. Reflection and prayer was an important part of the blanket-making, as we prayed for peace and justice in Afghanistan, an end to the war.
[4] Christian House Meeting about the war in Afghanistan
On November 16, 2001, Salt and the Interfaith Alliance for Justice organized a house meeting for evangelicals to discuss prayerfully the implications of the war in Afghanistan and the role of the Christian and the fellowship of believers in responding to violence and conflict.
[5] Publishing and Circulating "Christians at Yale for Reconciliation"
Salt of the Earth drafted a statement immediately after the September 11 attacks, offering the hope of reconciliation in Jesus Christ to the nations. After circulating the statement "Christians at Yale for Reconciliation" in the Christian community at Yale, it was published as a guest column in the October 11, 2001 issue of the Yale Daily News.
