The South Asian Film Society aims to celebrate South Asian film--be it made in South Asia*, produced by someone of South Asian descent, or about South Asia--by increasing awareness, exposure, and accessibility to these films, especially since many are from India, the largest producer of films in the world.
*The term "South Asia" refers to the historical areas of: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
