The reports are divided by year.
This archive consists of annual reports of the NKVM from 1921-1927. In addition to the intrinsic value these reports hold for military historians, offering a great deal of information on the day-to-day functioning of the Red Army, they also serve as a valuable source for the social history of the 1920's and 1930's. These reports include records of the literacy and physical health of recruits, accounts of the army's campaigns against "banditism," military involvement in agriculture and construction, to name just a few of the areas covered by these reports. Click here for a sample of the content descriptions of one report. Although each report varies somewhat, the general organization and content is the same.
