Welcome to the homepage of the Yale Rugby Football Club. The YRFC is a competitive, intercollegiate rugby club that competes during both the Fall and Spring seasons, in addition to an annual international tour during Spring Break. New members are always welcome, and no experience is required.

About Us

The Yale Rugby Football Club is always recruiting. No rugby experience is necessary. Rugby is a game for athletes of all shapes and sizes; our current squad ranges in weight from 135 to 250 pounds. The only requirement is that you are an undergraduate in Yale College.

During the Fall semester, practices are held four times a week from 4:00pm until 6:15pm on the rugby pitch, which is located next to the intramural fields. Home and away matches are played on Saturdays. In the Winter months, conditioning and individual skill workouts are conducted in the Payne Whitney Gymnasium. The Spring season is non-league and consists of an international tour and several tournaments, including the Ivy League Tournament. Congratulations to several Yale ruggers for garnering All-Ivy recognition!

All-American flanker and team captain Sean Walbridge '08, 8 man Cameron Maloney '08, wing Taylor Giffen '09, fullback Sam Cartmell '10, and lock Tim Shriver '11 were all named Honorable Mention All-Ivy following their play at this year's Ivy League Tournament at Columbia. Walbridge and Maloney were able to impress the panel despite having to bow out of the tournament due to injuries after the first match. The three underclassmen representing Yale on the squad speak to the abundance of talent returning next year for the Bulldogs. Visit www.ivyrugby.com for more information.
