Friends of Yale Rugby

It is our great pleasure to announce the formation of Friends of Yale Rugby (FYR), an organization of alumni and supporters of the Yale Rugby Football Club (YRFC).

FYR has three primary goals:

To ensure that the YRFC has adequate financial support to compete at the highest level of collegiate rugby.
To organize social events for alumni, including alumni games, after-match receptions, and local gatherings across the country.
To establish a network that YRFC undergraduates can look to for career advice and help in job placement.

FYR will be governed by a group of trustees, who will work with undergraduates and the Yale administration to foster the growth and success of the YRFC. Each year the trustees will elect five of their members as officers who will run FYR for the next year. Elections will be held at FYRÂ’s annual meeting which will take place in New Haven on the weekend of the final home football game (Harvard in odd years, Princeton in even). If you are interested in being a trustee, or would like to nominate a friend, please contact David Fischer. All former players are eligible, as well as coaches and supporters. In particular we encourage you to volunteer if you graduated in the 70s or earlier as we would like the trustees to be a representative body.
