Crew Alumni

The rowing experience at Yale has been significant for many athletes. A number of graduates have chosen coaching as their profession. Joel Furtek '90 is head coach of women's rowing at UNC, Amy Appleton '95 is an assistant women's coache at Wisconsin. Jay Printzlau '76 Howard Runyan '81, Chip Campbell '86, Chris Tolsdorf '91 and Garrison Smith '95 are all involved with coaching at the high school level.

30th Celebration A Great Success

On Saturday April 12 Yale Women's Crew Celebrated it's 30th birthday with an all day celebration. Four shells were dedicated including "1993 National Champions", "Katherine Ward", "Nathaniel H. Case" and the "1973 Yale Women's Crew 2003". The Alumnae row put three crews on the water followed by a cookout in the sunshine at the Gilder Boathouse. A crowd of nearly two hundred gathered for the dinner program on campus which concluded in the traditional singing of "Bright College Years" (ouch!!). Stay tuned for photos.

When You Think Of Your Former Teammates, Do Wonder Where Are They Now?
Catch up with old friends at one of our annual alumnae rows. You do not have to wait for a reunion weekend to come back and enjoy Yale. Every Fall an alumnae row is scheduled for either the Harvard or Princeton Football weekend. Saturday of the home football game come to the Gilder Boathouse at 8am for a morning row and a hot shower then head into the bowl for some tailgating with your classmates or stroll through campus.
