Kyong-Jin grew up in La Paz, Bolivia. She received her BA from Duke University in Religion, with a minor in Sociology and a certificate in Jewish Studies. She earned her MTS from Harvard Divinity School with a concentration in Scripture and its interpretation. Kyong-Jin’s research explores the social, political, and theological contexts in which the Hebrew Bible developed and ascertained its authoritative status during the Persian and Hellenistic periods. Her scholarly interests range between the Apocryphal, Pseudepigraphical, Targumic, and Midrashic literature as well as the Dead Sea Scrolls.
