Denys Turner, Co-Director of the IRST, is the Horace Tracy Pitkin Professor of Historical Theology at Yale Divinity School. Professor Turner is an internationally renowned scholar whose research interests include a wide range of subjects, including contemporary philosophy of religion, metaphysics, ethics, political and social theory, medieval philosophy and theology, and the history of medieval mysticism. Willis Jenkins, Co-Director of the IRST, is Assistant Professor of Social Ethics at Yale Divinity School. Professor Jenkins's research interests include environmental ethics, religion and sustainable development, and moral theologies. James Clement van Pelt, Program Coordinator for the IRST, specializes in spiritual anthropology, the theology of technology, and consciousness studies. His technologist positions have included ACES Senior Technology Advisor for Connecticut public school districts; Director of Advanced Solutions for Dun & Bradstreet; and technology consultant to American Express and other corporations and non-profits. He holds an M.A.R. from Yale Divinity School, and was a Research Fellow from 2003 to 2005. Gabriel J. Michael, Student Administrator for the IRST, is a second year M.A.R. student concentrating in Ethics. Gabriel graduated from the University of Maryland in 2007, where he studied Government and Politics. He is particularly interested in the social and ethical dimensions of information technology.
