The Rev. Kathleen McTigue was ordained as a Unitarian Universalist minister in 1987 and began parish ministry in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She has served the Unitarian Society of New Haven as Senior Minister since 1991. She has been a leading religious voice in Connecticut on such issues as opposition to the death penalty, support for a living wage, and equal marriage laws for gay, lesbian and bisexual couples. In 2002 she helped found Reclaiming the Prophetic Voice to assist clergy and congregations to speak out for peace, and she continues to be a leader on the state level against the war in Iraq and detainee abuse.
