Boots on the Ground is a docu-drama about how war in Iraq directly affects a single small state. The play was conceived and written by Laura Kepley, Trinity's Artistic Associate, and playwright D. Salem Smith. Together, they collected over 150 hours of interviews with more than 70 Rhode Islanders: soldiers, veterans, family members, teachers, doctors, journalists, and clergy. The play does not take a political stance on the war but invites audience members to reflect on all sides.
