If you are holding a BS, MS, Ph.D. or an adequate degree; if you are a college student or one who successfully accomplished non-degree programs (2 semesters at least) outside of the Former Soviet Union, and if you connect your future with Ukraine, you are eligible to join the Association.
Around 70 List Members participated in the discussion on what type of
association Ukrainian Alumni from all over the world do need in
Ukraine. Over 40 members have already registered for the Association.
After the first organizing conference this number grew up to 94.
THE CURRENT STATUS OF THE ASSOCIATION DEVELOPMENT:
The association has submitted all required documents to the Kyiv City
office of justice to be registered there, got an office in Kyiv downtown
(Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street 52b, room 413, phone: 044-224-7975).
The alumni conference held on January 24, 1997 went well. The Conference
approved the creation of UFUAA and worked out some recommendations.
The statute of the association (in Ukrainian) and conference proceedings

d) newsletter;
e) round table discussions and presentation on different topics (government and non-government officials are welcome to get familiar with the ideas of the association);
f) social events (fun) for members.

The set up meeting of foreign universities alumni, which was held in Kyiv
on February 14 1997, elected Oleksandr Prydorozhko the President of UFUAA,
elected the Rada of Association:

3. Sergiy Souglobin, Derzhinvest, chief economist;
4. Pavlo Rizanenko, Ernst & Young, auditor;
5. Svitlana Zhuikova, Bechtel National, Inc., interpreter
and elected the Revision Committee:
1. Igor Afanasiev, RJR Tobacco Int., financial manager;
2. Svitlana Berezhna, Ernst & Young, auditor;
3. Oleksiy Todorov, Western NIS Enterprise Fund, economist.
By this date, 94 individuals have registered for our organization.
At present, Association is applying for grants
- to create and maintain a job placement database for
foreign universities alumni and
- to organize e-mail discussion groups or project
oriented groups for realization of alumni initiatives
and projects.

There are some changes in Ukrainian name of Association and its
mission statement. The Kyiv city office of justice registers
only "ob'yednannya", associations are registered by the
Ministry of Justice.
