What is sketch comedy? It’s like improv, right?
Not exactly. Ever seen Saturday Night Live? It’s kinda like that. We write, produce, direct, and perform all of our sketches. Some live. Some video. All funny.

What are auditions like?
Auditions are low-stress, and if anything lots of fun. We do a couple of read-throughs using actual sketches that we have written and performed. If you can read, you can audition.

Do I need any experience?
Not at all! While some of us are trained actors, most of us had no acting experience prior to joining Red Hot Poker.

What’s the time commitment like?
We meet twice a week and perform about six shows a year. Other than tech weeks (the weeks of our shows), we’re pretty chill.

Can upperclassmen audition?
Yes! Last year we tapped a junior and a sophomore. The sophomore is now one of our Directors.

Will Celina go out to coffee with me?
Yes! But not cocktails after. She's a froco.
