Redhot & Blue is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible nonprofit charitable organization, which means everything to us: from opportunity to responsibility. The opportunity is obvious: without the pressure of profit, we can choose our venues based on the wonderful people we could sing for as opposed to the amount of money we could make.
Our responsibility, however, is to use that status to be a real charitable organization, as opposed to a company with a legal tax exemption.
For Redhot, being nonprofit means that we plan our concerts in large part based on where we can be most important to people. This is an amazingly powerful opportunity, and allows us to perform at places like retirement homes and schools for little or no money. The experience is immensely rewarding, and we wish so much that we could do it more. Unfortunately, as full-time students and full-time singers, this doesn't always allow us to turn enough of a profit from our more lucrative concerts to pay for our more charitable ones. Even so, we try our best, as there is truly nothing more fulfilling to so many people than the music that we can give them. We would be so grateful if you could help us give it to them.
