Bulldogs, Bulldogs, Bow-wow-wow!

You may have spotted a uniformed team out at the football field and the tailgates this fall on Saturday game days—it’s Yale Recycling! Continuing the tradition of years past, Yale Recycling is out at the fields again this fall—staffing football games with recycling workers and recycling drop-off stations.  Check out the recycling bins near the hospitality tents, tailgate areas, and stadium entrances—and help Yale and its football fans make games fun and sustainable for the University.

Yale Recycling workers collect bottles and cans in the stadium, and set up information tables and collection sites outside the Yale Bowl.  You may even get to partake in a Yale Recycling/Athletics co-sponsored recycling game! Please be aware where you discard your trash and recyclable items during Saturday games—and be on the lookout for Yale Recycling’s team, who are more than happy to take used items off your hands, or direct you to the nearest recycling station.

RecycleMania 2009 Results:

Yale Came in 4th Among Ivies in RecycleMania Finals!

The good news is that Yale finished in 4th place among the Ivy League schools participating in the judged section of RecycleMania. The bad news is that, in the final tally, there were only 5 Ivy League schools participating in that arena of the contest. The really bad news is that a certain school in Cambridge beat us by nearly 10 percentage points.

The percentages given are the recycling rates for each school over the 10-week period of RecycleMania.

1st Harvard 29.63%
2nd Princeton 28.82%
3rd UPenn 21.36%
4th Yale 20.92%
5th Brown 18.06%
