Participate as an Undergraduate Research Assistant
Thank you for exploring the possibility of becoming involved in the Regulation of Emotion and Anxiety Disorders Lab. The success of this laboratory depends heavily upon the involvement of bright and motivated undergraduates and recent graduates.. Although we welcome any inquiries from individuals interested in research on emotion and anxiety disorders, those who join our lab as research assistants are often considering attending graduate school in clinical psychology, but would like to gain research experience before applying. Several of our past research assistants in our lab have been accepted to top clinical psychology graduate programs.
Typically, our research assistants work primarily with one or two graduate students in the lab on an ongoing research project related to emotion regulation and anxiety disorders (please see research page for more information about ongoing studies). Responsibilities include recruiting participants for studies, collecting and assisting with data analysis, and, in some cases, preparing data for presentation and publication. In addition, research assistants are expected to participate in a 1-hr. lab meeting each week to review the progress of experiments in the lab as well as to discuss papers relevant to emotions and anxiety. Yale undergraduate students may arrange to receive credit for their participation in the lab. We welcome interest in independent research projects as well. To learn more about specific research projects, please look under Research section on this website.
If you’re interested in learning more about these research opportunities, please contact Dr. Mennin to arrange an interview. He may be reached via e-mail at doug.mennin (at) yale.edu. Thank you for your interest! We look forward to talking with you.
