Vendor Certification

Program Overview

The PSC has developed a Vendor Certification Program to identify and certify a select group of best-in-service print vendors who have agreed to preferential pricing for the Yale community. The Vendor Certification Program recognizes Yale’s extremely diversified and decentralized print procurement environment. Reducing the supplier pool maximizes Yale’s buying power by increasing the market share to fewer suppliers. It also simplifies the print purchasing process by prequalifying capable suppliers in pre-defined categories, thus allowing Yale print buyers to spend less time managing print and more time on core job responsibilities.

Phase I: Certified Print Vendors for the Yale Community

The first phase of the program resulted in PSC certification for a group of mid- to high-end print vendors for the Yale publishing community. Local and current Yale vendors were identified and categorized by their capabilities and service level. A limited number of vendors were chosen in this category to meet the broad range of services required by the University and continue to maximize Yale’s buying power.

Subsequent program phases will identify and certify preferred print and graphic resources available to Yale in other categories of print and design.
