Sustainability and Printing
Yale’s commitment to preserving the global environment for future generations is evident in many of its environmental initiatives. In 2005, for example, the University established an Office of Sustainability, and it aims to reduce its greenhouse-gas emissions to 10% below its 1990 levels by the year 2020.
In keeping with this commitment to preserving the environment, PSC announces that four of its certified printers, GHP, Finlay, Harty Press and Thames Printing , are members of the international Forest Stewardship Council’s chain-of-custody certification program. This program, a collaboration among FSC-certified forests, paper mills, paper distributors, and printers, ensures “the highest social and environmental standards in the market where you use paper.”
