About the PSC

Our Strategy

PSC will develop and deliver a range of practical publishing solutions free of charge to the Yale community. Key elements of our approach are to:

  • Provide expert strategic consultation.

  • Develop online tools, references, and training to allow departments to better control their publishing projects and expenditures.

  • Develop clear, comprehensive directions, guidelines, and governance for graphic design, printing, Web, and publishing services.

  • Reduce the number of vendors used by Yale clients for graphic design, print, and Web. A group of preferred vendors will be selected, monitored, and actively managed in order to ensure consistent, transparent delivery of superior service at the lowest possible cost.

  • Organize and manage internal service providers to align with the needs of the Yale community.

  • Develop and encourage cost-effective alternatives to print.

  • Provide, where appropriate, unit-level analysis of publishing activities and the development of customized solutions that will save time and money.

  • Improve the accuracy of tracking and management of expenditures for all forms of publishing.

  • Reduce postage through greater use of nonprofit mailing.
