About the PSC
Our Strategy
PSC will develop and deliver a range of practical publishing solutions free of charge to the Yale community. Key elements of our approach are to:
- Provide expert strategic consultation.
- Develop online tools, references, and training to allow departments to better control their publishing projects and expenditures.
- Develop clear, comprehensive directions, guidelines, and governance for graphic design, printing, Web, and publishing services.
- Reduce the number of vendors used by Yale clients for graphic design, print, and Web. A group of preferred vendors will be selected, monitored, and actively managed in order to ensure consistent, transparent delivery of superior service at the lowest possible cost.
- Organize and manage internal service providers to align with the needs of the Yale community.
- Develop and encourage cost-effective alternatives to print.
- Provide, where appropriate, unit-level analysis of publishing activities and the development of customized solutions that will save time and money.
- Improve the accuracy of tracking and management of expenditures for all forms of publishing.
- Reduce postage through greater use of nonprofit mailing.
