New Office Supply Contract Announcement
Procurement is pleased to announce the availability of a new office supply contract with Corporate Express that should provide significant savings to the University. The new contract is the result of reverse auction competitive bidding event conducted over the summer and should result in 20-30% savings on the items most often purchased by Yale departments.
At the heart
of the new contract is a new list of over 800 “Best Buy” items. This
new list replaces the old contract discount list of 300 items. Using this
new list you can expect to save the most money on standard office supply
items. You can find the items on this new “Complete Contract List” on our
web site at www.yale.edu/procurement/news/OfficeSupplyContract.htm. You
can also find these items on EWay by searching for items with the green
contract symbol 
beside them. On the Procurement web site you will also
find the new “Office Supply Order” form with frequently ordered items and
a “Best Buy Cross-Reference” necessary to switch your order forms and EWay
templates over to the new “Best Buy” equivalent items.
Using the new “Best Buy” items is important since these items will offer your department the best prices. In addition, some of the items you may have purchased as “Best Buys” under the prior contract may no longer be a “Best Buy” going forward. A similar product may instead now be the “Best Buy” under the new contract. Please refer to the “Best Buy Cross-Reference” on the web site above for the new “Best Buy” items. Contract pricing for old “Best Buy” items will remain in effect until October 11th 2003.
Customer service representatives at Corporate Express are currently distributing new order forms and the EWay web site (which is available via the Yale ePortal Office Supplies option at www.yale.edu/eportal ) already has the updated pricing.
