Important Information for New Users

Welcome to SciQuest, Yale’s new electronic procurement solution!  This online approach will help you to quickly and easily buy a variety of office, computer and lab supplies including those that are found in our Yale Stockrooms.

Online supplier catalogs, great pricing from Yale contract suppliers, optional routing of orders for review and approval and electronic delivery of the order to the supplier are just a few of the many features that SciQuest offers the Yale buying community.

Access

Your SciQuest account has been created by your departmental business manager (or designee) who has determined your appropriate role, either a Requester or an Approver.  Some requesters may have the ability to self-approve an order up to a dollar limit determined by your business manager.  These orders will go straight to the supplier for fulfillment.  Other requesters may be required to send all of their orders to a departmental approver.  Should you need clarification of the approval process for your department, please check with your business manager.

To get started using SciQuest, you may take advantage of a variety of training materials and opportunities to suit your learning style:

• Online demonstrations presented as brief task-related modules (1-3 minutes each) available online for immediate viewing.  (These videos are also useful as quick refreshers.)

Support

We will periodically send email communications to all SciQuest users with critical information regarding the application and ordering process.  Additionally, the ITS Help Desk is experienced with SciQuest and is ready to assist you.  The SciQuest team meets with the Help Desk regularly to review issues so that we can continue to learn and improve SciQuest for the benefit of the Yale community.   Please direct all inquiries to 785-3200, 432-9000 or helpdesk@yale.edu.
