About the Yale Pre-Law Society

The Yale Pre-Law Society (YPLS) is a non-profit organization of undergraduate students interested in sustaining a dialogue on contemporary legal issues and in pursuing a legal education or career.

Interest in Contemporary Legal Issues

The organization strives to promote an increased awareness and interest in the law by hosting conferences, lectures, and panels throughout the year that reflect a wide variety of legal issues ranging from civil liberties to intellectual property rights. YPLS will invite people in the legal community to speak to our organization, sponsor Master's Teas, and host a lecture series.

Interest in Pursuing a Legal Education or Career

YPLS will also help prepare students for law school and their eventual careers by providing them with the opportunity to become more familiar with the law school admissions process, different legal career paths, and the various legal professions. Events will include law admissions panels, law school fairs, administration of mock LSAT exams, informal conversations with Yale alumni in the legal profession, and social events.
