Salaries

For the 2009-10 fiscal year beginning July 1, the Yale salary standards below have been adopted. Postdoctoral appointees should not be paid less than the Yale minimum.

Yale Minimum
1st Year - $37,000
2nd Year - $38,000
3rd Year - $40,000
4th Year - $42,000
5th Year - $43,500
6th Year - $45,500

Term Limits

Individuals generally hold postdoctoral appointments at Yale University for no longer than four years, although a postdoc may be appointed for a fifth or sixth year when absolutely necessary. The total term of postdoctoral appointments may not exceed six years, including previous postdoctoral experience at other institutions.
