Research Interests

Much of my research experience and interest centers around general aquatic ecology. During my academic career, I have surveyed benthic macroinvertebrates in Algonquin Provincial Park, identified parasites in sculpins found in the Bay of Fundy and portaged/paddled much of Killarney Provincial Park for both mesocosm experiments and field surveys. With the Post Lab, my work focuses on the ecological and evolutionary consequences of intraspecific phenotypic variation in alewives. My duties range from leading research crews during the spring/summer core lake sampling, to counting zooplankton samples and running water nutrient analyses in the fall/winter.

I received my Master's degree from Queen's University in 2007, under the supervision of Dr. Shelley Arnott and Dr. Linda Campbell. My thesis used a combined appraoch of stable isotopes and mercury bioaccumultation to investigate the role of Bythotrephes, an invasive predatory cladoceran, in invaded Ontario lake food webs.

I am originally from Ontario and still hold quite close to my "Canadianisms". I love canoeing, hiking and really anything that allows me to be outdoors. Luckily, working with the Post lab allows me to get outside...rain or shine!
