Year-long Senior Essay

Almost all majors write a one-semester Senior Essay. Some, however, choose to write a two-semester Essay, which is done in PLSC 490a/491b.

Juniors wishing to write a two-semester essay in their senior year in PLSC 490a/491b must submit an application. Application should include a two-page statement of project, signed by a faculty adviser who has agreed to supervise the student's essay, and an up-to-date transcript. The form is available in the DUS office or at on-line and is due by April 4, 2008.

Intensive Majors (Juniors Only):

A few choose to pursue the Intensive Major, in which the two-semester Senior Essay is written in PLSC 493 and is preceded by PLSC 474b in the Spring semester of Junior year.

Juniors wishing to pursue an Intensive Major must submit an application. The form is available in the DUS office or on-line and is due by November 16, 2007.
