Elizabeth Hanson
Elizabeth Hanson (Betty), Ph.D. Columbia, is Director of India Studies and Professor Emerita at the University of Connecticut. Her publications have covered a wide range of topics, including the foreign policy beliefs of American businessmen, national policies with respect to foreign direct investment, and the role of conferences in international scientific communication. Her current research focuses on the political economy of the Internet India and, more generally, on the impact of new information and communication technologies on world politics. Her book, The Information Revolution and World Politics, was published last year. She has been a Research Fellow at the Shorenstein Center for the Press, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard University, and she has received two Fulbright awards to India. She is teaching South Asia in World Politics at Yale in the spring semester of 2009.
