Yale plans
a number of appointments in Political Science as part of an effort to
rethink political order in the emerging world. Searches are open with
respect to rank, to applicants from any political science subfields,
and to all methodological persuasions. Our aim is to appoint scholars
who illuminate the political universe in rigorous, systematic, and creative
ways. Searches will proceed in the five areas of the new
initiative.
Brady-Johnson Professor of Political Science
and Distinguished Fellow in Grand Strategy
Yale University seeks to appoint a
senior political scientist whose career reflects excellence in researching
and teaching international relations theory, grand strategy, and national
security policy broadly conceived. The successful applicant will hold
the recently-established Brady-Johnson Professorship in the Political
Science Department, while serving as Distinguished Fellow in the Brady-Johnson
Program in Grand Strategy. Teaching responsibilities will be divided
equally between the two programs. Candidates must have a significant
record of scholarly publications and demonstrated success in the classroom,
with policy experience also an advantage. Yale values diversity among
its students, staff, and faculty and especially encourages applications
from and nominations of women and underrepresented minority scholars.
Applications (vitae, samples of scholarship, and letters of reference)
as well as nominations should be sent to
