Jung Kim

As a Fox International Fellow for the 2004-2005 academic year, he is conducting his dissertation research at the University of Tokyo. The working title of his dissertation is "The Choice Transformed: Nationalizing and Rationalizing Party Politics in Japan and South Korea (expected completion 2007)." Prior to entering the Ph.D. Program at Yale, he worked for 6 years as a Government-Nominated Researcher at the Institute for Far Eastern Studies, Kyungnam University in Seoul.

Research Interests: Varieties of Democracy; Comparative Democratic Institutions; Political Parties in Advanced Industrial Democracies; Political Economy of Japan and South Korea; American Presidency in Comparative Perspective; and Research Design and Methodology
