Yale
University Report on Campus Security in 2006 |
As we do each year
consistent with Federal law, we are posting Yale's
report on campus security. This report includes a
listing of policies and procedures intended to keep the
campus safe, and data on crime for 2006. Available
here, the report uses federally-mandated
definitions concerning the locations of crimes in order
to allow for comparisons across campuses. The Yale data,
along with comparable information from other colleges
and universities, are published electronically by the
U.S. Department of Education and can be viewed at
http://ope.ed.gov/security/Search.asp.
It is also important to
note that the Yale Police and the Office of the
Secretary monitor a much larger geographic area and
report information on incidents that may not be included
in the federally-mandated definitions in order to
increase awareness and inform our community about
serious events.
We hope you will take the opportunity to review the
report and to become familiar with the services and
programs that are available to help keep the campus
safe.
