Fermion-Boson mixtures in two dimensions

Abstract: We use a functional renormalization group analysis to study the dynamics of a two-dimensional Fermion-Boson mixture, where the fermions are at half-filling and the bosons deep in the Bose-Einstein condensation phase. We produce a phase diagram associated with the competing orders of this type of system and show that proper tuning of the interaction strengths among fermions and bosons and among bosons themselves can force the fermionic system to undergo antiferromagnetic ordering, s-wave and d-wave superconductivity or a charge density wave phase.
