MINOS Experiment : First Oscillation Results Using beam Neutrinos
Abstract: First we will discuss the Physics goals of the experiment and the basic characteristics and primary purpose of the MINOS Detectors. Then we will present the Near Detector measurements and show how they compare with Monte Carlo expectations. After, we will focus on the analysis of the Far Detector data and in particular on event selection, and on the technique used to perform the Near to Far extrapolation of the neutrino flux. Finally we will present the oscillation results and briefly discuss future prospects.
