Graduate Placement Record for Recent Ph.D.'s

Below are the employment histories of all our recent (1999-) Ph.D.'s, listed by the year in which the Ph.D. degree was awarded. We cannot guarantee the information is accurate, but have tried to make it so, and believe it to be so. The names of the graduates are withheld for the sake of privacy.

2009

1.  2-year Bersoff Fellowship at NYU beginning Fall of 2009 to be followed by a tenure track positiion at Columbia/Barnard.

2.  2-year visiting position at Franklin-Marshall College

3.  Tenure track at Southern Connecticut

4.  Post-doctoral fellowship (up to four years) at the University of Munich.

2008

1. Tenure track at Northern Illinois University

2. Two-year postdoc, Valparaiso University

3.  One-year post-doc at University of Miami followed by adjunct teaching at Fordham University

2007

1. Tenure track at Valparaiso University beginning in Fall of 2007; now tenure track at Skidmore beginniing in Fall of 2009.

2. Tenure-track at Ehwa Women’s University, Seoul, Korea

3. Adjunct positions at the University of Hartford and the University of New Haven followed by a tenure-track position at the University of Hartford

1. Post-doctoral appointments in Israel, now tenure-track at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

2. Taking time off to raise a child.

3. Tenure-track at Southern Connecticut State University, preceded by a one year Post-Doctoral appointment at Harvard Medical and by a postdoctoral appointment at Tulane and a one year appointment at the University of Arizona.

2001

1. Tenure-track at Ohio State University, Newark and Columbus campuses, beginning Fall 2001. Tenure-track at Ohio State University, Columbus, beginning fall 2003 now tenured at Ohio State University

2. Comparative Literature & Philosophy joint degree at Yale; subsequently received a Ph.D. program at the University of Pittsburgh.  Now tenure-track position in German at the University of Colorado, Boulder

3. Tenure track at St. Louis University beginning in Fall 2001; now tenured at St. Louis University.
