Train

New Haven is a major regional rail hub. There are two train stations in New Haven and they are served by the following three passenger rail providers:

Metro North

MTA Metro-North Railroad, offers transportation between New Haven and New York City's Grand Central Station. Click here for a map of all the stops, including Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport, Fairfield, Westport, and Stamford.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation's Shore Line East commuter rail service provides fast and easy transportation between New London and New Haven and beyond Monday through Friday. Convenient bus connections to and from the train stations around campus. More info...

Amtrak - For many of Amtrak's short-distance routes, you can purchase multi-ride tickets. These tickets let you ride multiple times within a set amount of time.  Options include 10-ride ticket or a monthly pass.  For those who live up the Northeast Corridor, the regional train services Wallingford, Meriden, Berlin, Hartford, Windsor and Windsor Locks.
