Carpooling
Carpooling significantly reduces your parking and gas costs. Two person carpools receive a discount of 60% off the annual parking permit fee. Three or more person carpools receive a discount of 75%. If you can't carpool together everyday, don't worry! You will receive up to three free one-day permits per month for days when carpooling isn't possible. AND in case of emergency you can take advantage of our FREE Guaranteed Ride Home program.
Looking for a carpool partner?
The fallowing web sites provide assistance in locating someone who shares your route and schedule.
- Download and complete the Carpool Application Form to register a carpool with Yale University and bring or fax (432-9796) the form to the Parking Office located in the lobby at 2 Whitney Ave.
- All existing parking permits (stickers and hang tags) must be exchanged at the Parking Office for new Carpool hang tags.
- You must be registered to participate.
- All participants receive special hang tags.
- Participants will be allowed three free entries to a lot each month, for days when a carpool is inconvenient.
- For a two person carpool, each participant receives a discount of 60% off their current parking rate.
- For carpools of three or more, each participant receives a discount of 75% off their current parking rate.
- Carpool permits are available for all lots and garages and current parkers will remain in the lots they are assigned to.
- If you are currently assigned to Grove Street, Air Rights, Temple Med, Temple Street and Crown Street garages, the three free stays will be assigned at a nearby lot. Please contact the Parking Office for more details.
