Domestic Partner Benefits at Yale

Domestic Partners of Yale Graduate & Professional students are eligible for a Student Affiliate ID card which confers particular privileges. On the Yale Transit Minibus & Shuttle, in the Library System, in the Museums, and at the Gym, among others. You may visit the ID Center to get an Affiliate ID with your spouse/partner after you have received your student ID at the beginning of Fall Registration.

Health Care is also available for the same-sex domestic partners and dependent children in the Yale Health Plan (same rate as married spouses). For further information, consult the Health Plan Brochure (PDF) pages 52-53. If you fail to enroll your dependents by the enrollment deadlines you must wait until the next term in which they are eligible for coverage.

The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences offers all PhD students a fellowship premium, which will pay up to ½ the cost of a  two-person or family plan (for spouses/same sex domestic partners and/or children).  Contact the Graduate School Financial Aid Office (129 HGS) for details.  For more health care information, call the Yale Health Plan information line at (203) 432-0246.
