- Internal Service Providers
Internal Service Providers (“ISPs”) are units separately organized to provide goods and/or services to other University organizational units or departments and charge for those goods or services. Yale Policy 1410: “Internal Service Providers” (formerly “Service Centers and Specialized Service Facilities”) has recently been revised. The new policy requires ISPs to 1) register with the ISP Standards Committee initially and renew their registration annually, 2) charge cost-based rates to customers for their goods and/or services, and 3) follow specific accounting and billing practices.
Three new procedures and two new guides to assist departments in complying with this policy:
- Procedure 1410 PR.01 “Internal Service Providers: Registration and Annual Renewal”
- Procedure 1410 PR.02 “Internal Service Providers: Rate Calculation”
- Procedure 1410 PR.03 “Internal Service Providers: Accounting and Billing”
- Guide 1410 GD.01 “Internal Service Providers: Registration Completion”
- Guide 1410 GD.02 “Internal Service Providers: Rate Calculation”
These policies and procedures will be posted in draft form on the policies and procedures website. Draft policies are accessible by clicking on "Policy Drafts" and entering your Yale net ID and password. Please take the time to review and comment on these important documents.
- New Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Commitment Disclosure Forms
In an effort to improve the Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Commitment disclosure and review process and in response to recommendations from faculty and other members of the research community, the University is developing a web-based Conflict of Interest-Conflict of Commitment (COI-COC) Disclosure Form. This new form will provide an interactive and more efficient means for faculty and other research personnel to meet their obligations to disclose outside activities and financial interests

Stem Cell Research
Investigators who intend to engage in research involving human embryonic stem cells whether using Registered Human Embryonic Stem Cell Lines or Non-registered Human Embryonic Stem Cell Lines, must secure certain institutional approvals prior to conducting such research or expending any funds on such research at Yale. The newly published Stem Cell Procedure supplements the Yale Stem Cell Policy and provides detailed instructions on how to proceed.
