On Mondays, students leave the classroom for a variety of field trips and laboratory tours on or near Yale campus. This past summer students performed experiments on the BioBus, a bus retrofitted for laboratory experiements. They were also treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of the Yale Peabody Museum, Yale MRI laboratory, NOAA laboratory, among others.

There were opportunities for recreation as well. In the late afternoon, students had the option of swimming or working out in the Yale Payne Whitney Gymnasium. Often many choose to go and play Ultimate Frisbee on the New Haven Green. The RAs also planned a scavenger hunt to familiarize the students with the campus, a field day ending with a wet relay race, and a dance competition/talent show. All of these activities were competitions and a part of the First Annual SCHOLAR Cup Challenge. Students also planned and ran the Closing Ceremony for parents and family.
