SAS 6.11 for Windows

SAS release 6.11 for Windows is now available at the Microcomputer Support Center. According to SAS, this release is considered production if running on Windows 3.x or WFWG 3.X, pre-production if running on Windows NT, and experimental if running on Windows 95. Those currently participating in Yale site license program with an earlier DOS or Windows version of SAS may simply purchase the CD-ROM for $90 with proof of license. A first time license with media is $175. Add-on licenses are $50 each. SAS permits Yale students to run the program at home without paying the license fee. Students may visit the StatLab for more information about obtaining the program.

Requirements for SAS release 6.11 for Windows:

Software

• DOS 5.0 or later with Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups 3.11
• Microsoft Windows WIN32s Operating System Extension 1.25.131 or later is required.
• This product will not run in the OS/2 environment until OS/2 supports the correct level of WIN32s.

  Hardware

• Any machine using an Intel or Intel-compatible 80386 33 MHz or higher CPU
• Performance can be improved by using a 33 MHz or faster 80486 or Pentium machine
• A math coprocessor (e.g. the Intel 80387 for 386 machines) is required.
• RAM - 8 MB minimum, 10 MB for mid-range use, 12 MB or more for maximum performance
• For Base SAS software, 15 MB of swapfile space is required.
• Monitors - VGA, 8514, XGA, SVGA
• Mouse - required
• Hard disk space for selected modules - MS WIN32s 0.7 MB
