Orientation for International Students in the
Graduate and Professional Schools
Welcome newcomers! We are excited that you will be joining our community, and want to introduce you to your new campus and life at Yale and in New Haven.
Check in with OISS
All new G&P students are required by law to report to the Office of International Students and Scholars upon their arrival in New Haven. (Failure to check in could result in loss of your legal status in the U.S.)
When to Check in with OISS
Monday through Friday
10:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m.
Document Review
Please be certain to have the following documents (for yourself and each of your accompanying dependents):
Passport
Your immigration document (I-20 or DS-2019)
I-94 number (print your I-94 number to your phone or other portable device or bring a hard copy printout)
Depending on your status you may need to complete some forms.

This short session will review important information about your immigration documents as well as introduce you to some valuable international resources around Yale. This is also an opportunity for you to get answers to any settling-in questions you might have.
