Email Accounts & Net ID

With a Yale Net ID, you can set up your Yale e-mail address and have privileged access to the Yale server.

  • Go in person to ITS (Information Technology Services) to obtain your Net ID and set up an e-mail account.
  • All students receive a Net ID and PIN (personal identification number) prior to arrival at Yale. With this information the account can be activated from home or upon arrival on-campus.

Visiting fellows, employees and scholars at Yale who are on the Yale payroll are eligible for an e-mail account. Contact your department if you have any questions about your eligibility.

Spouses, Partners & Family cannot get a Yale e-mail address without being employed at Yale (immigration restrictions apply). Use the computer kiosks on campus to access the Internet and set up a free web-based email account. Here are some popular options:
