If you are eligible to apply for a Social Security Number (SSN), we encourage you get one before filing your taxes. As a student, you will need to report your SSN to your School Registrar and to Student Employment. As a scholar, you will need to report your SSN to your department business manager.

If you do not have a social security number, CINTAX will generate the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) application form along with your federal income tax return form(s). As instructed by CINTAX, all of these documents will need to be printed and mailed to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) along with a letter you will need to request from OISS (to support your ITIN application) and a notarized copy of your passport page.

After going through CINTAX for your federal return, please see the information about completing your state return(s).
