F-1 and J-1 Students Address Update Instructions

Update your addresses in the Student Information System (SIS). OISS will pass this information onto DHS.

Log into www.yale.edu/sis.

Click on "Student Login."

Enter your Net ID and password.

Click on the "Main Menu" tab.

Click on "Personal Data Menu."

Click on "Your Addresses."

These two (2) fields are required for SEVIS reporting:

  1. Residence Location for OISS (New Haven or local address)
  2. Non-US Permanent Address for OISS (Home Country address)

NOTE: You may see addresses already listed. However, the only addresses which will report your immigration status are those marked "FOR OISS". You will therefore have the same addresses listed multiple times.

How to Add an Address

1. Go to "Type of Address to Insert."

2. Choose "Residence Location for OISS."

3. Click "Insert Address" next to heading for "Type of address to insert."

4. Enter your local U.S. address where you are living.

5. LEAVE BLANK the "Until this Date" field and NOT APPLICABLE in both of the "County" and "Nation" fields.

6. After entering your information: Click "Submit" once.

7. Go to "Type of Address to Insert" and choose "Non-US Permanent Address for OISS."

8. Click "Insert Address" next to heading for "Type of address to insert."

9. Enter your home country permanent address.

10. LEAVE BLANK the "Until this Date" field.
