Update Your Address

The Immigration & Nationality Act (INA Section 265) requires all non-immigrants and permanent residents, including international students, scholars, and their families, to report any change of address in the U.S. to the federal government. You will initially report your address on the Form I-94 (Arrival-Departure Record) that you complete when you enter the U.S. A portion of the card is given to you (usually stapled in your passport) and a portion is kept by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for its records. Immigration regulations require that you report any changes in address after arrival in the United States within ten days of moving.
