The Yale Collection of Musical Instruments is located in the heart of Yale's New Haven Campus on Hillhouse Avenue,
once described by Charles Dickens as “the most beautiful street in America.”
The Collection is 5 minutes by taxi from the New Haven train station, 12 minutes by taxi from Tweed-New Haven airport, and within easy walking distance of the University's other museums and libraries.

Public Visiting Hours
September through July:
Tuesday through Friday, 1pm-4pm;
Sunday, 1-5pm.
Closed during August
The Collection is also closed during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring recesses. For the dates of the University Recesses, please refer to the Yale University Calendar.
Christmas Recess 2011-2012
The Collection will be closed during the Yale Christmas Recess,
December 10, 2011 through January 9, 2012. Public visiting
hours will resume on Tuesday, 10 January 2012, 1-4 pm.
Driving Directions
I-95 (Connecticut Turnpike) to I-91 to Exit 3 (Trumbull Street).
Left at second set of lights onto Temple Street.
First right onto Grove Street.
First right again onto Hillhouse Avenue
The Collection is the second building past St. Mary's Church on the right.
Short term (metered) parking is available on the street.
For longer term parking there are several commercial garages within three blocks.
